Propõe uma reflexão ampla sobre o exercício e os mistérios inerentes ao ofício do tradutor. O livro reúne entrevistas com Estela dos Santos Abreu e Eurídice Figueiredo, responsáveis por verter ao português, respectivamente, os livros A ilha da chuva e do vento (em 1986) e Joãozinho no Além (em 1988). Apresenta também uma entrevista com a escritora guadalupense Simone Schwarz-Bart, autora das referidas obras, cuja escrita engajada é fortemente ancorada nos costumes caribenhos. Os capítulos revelam rituais, práticas, prazos, dificuldades e repercussões dos trabalhos das tradutoras entrevistadas, descortinando aspectos vitais para que se alcance qualidade e o papel estratégico que a tradução desempenha no processo de receptividade de uma obra pelo público. Tradução em (ent)revista também é um testemunho dos processos que envolvem a tradução de obras caribenhas no Brasil, estimulando debates e estudos sobre a área.

Unlike other professions, the impact of information and communication technology on interpreting has been moderate so far. However, recent advances in the areas of remote, computer-assisted, and, most recently, machine interpreting, are gaining the interest of both researchers and practitioners. This volume aims at exploring key issues, approaches and challenges to the interplay of interpreting and technology, an area that is still underrepresented in the field of Interpreting Studies. The contributions to this volume cover topics in the area of computer-assisted and remote interpreting, both in the conference as well as in the court setting, and report on experimental studies.

Translation Studies has been in action in the Polish humanities since 1930s. The book gathers the most important contributions from Polish translation scholars working in the context of Literary and Cultural Studies as well as Linguistics. The essays offer insights into the conceptualisation of translation, stylistics and poetics, history and anthropology of translation. Most of them are made available in English for the first time. The editors' introduction provides a panoramic backdrop for concepts, methodologies and applications.
